About this role

Panthalassa seeks a Supplier Quality and Development Engineer to manage supplier relationships and manufacturing readiness for their ocean energy hardware. You'll drive quality planning, process development, and supplier capability across forming, machining, welding, and assembly operations while supporting production scale-up from design through manufacturing.

What you'll do

  • Serve as primary technical contact for suppliers producing Node hardware components
  • Lead supplier quality and manufacturing-readiness activities for new product introduction using APQP, PPAP, FAIR, and 8D methodologies
  • Evaluate manufacturing methods and supplier capabilities for metal forming, machining, welding, and assembly processes
  • Conduct design-for-manufacturing reviews and create specifications, inspection criteria, and control documentation
  • Analyze supplier performance data, lead root-cause investigations, and manage corrective-action requests
  • Travel to supplier and manufacturing locations up to 50% of work week to audit facilities and resolve production issues
