About this role
Paradigm seeks a Product Engineer to build AI agent infrastructure and user-facing applications, primarily Slack interfaces, that automate workflows across the investment firm. You'll drive the development of Centaur (an open-source multiplayer AI agent runtime) and shape how Paradigm's teams operate daily through experimental, production-grade systems.
What you'll do
- Build agent-powered automation for Paradigm's investing, research, and operations teams via Slack and other interfaces
- Design and own the user experience for AI agent collaboration, ensuring it feels fast, legible, and trustworthy
- Develop extensibility frameworks (tools, workflows, skills, overlays) so teams can build on Centaur without forking
- Expand agent harness integration across multiple CLIs while maintaining a unified execution model
- Manage open-source stewardship: triage issues, write docs, examples, and guides for the MIT-licensed Centaur project
- Partner with Investing & Research, Events, and BizOps to identify high-impact automation opportunities
What they're looking for
- Full-stack product engineering and system design
- AI/LLM application development and prompt engineering
- Infrastructure and DevOps (agent runtimes, CLIs, deployments)
- Slack bot and conversational UI development
- Open-source software stewardship and community engagement
- Backend and distributed systems engineering
- Security and safety considerations for agentic systems
- Product sense and stakeholder collaboration
