PCB Design Engineer
About this role
Planet is seeking a PCB Design Engineer to design and optimize circuit board assemblies for satellite systems, including RF/Microwave, power, and high-speed digital interfaces. You'll collaborate with electrical engineers, manage Altium designs, coordinate with manufacturers, and ensure compliance with IPC standards for space-grade hardware.
What you'll do
- Design PCB layouts for RF/Microwave, power, and high-speed digital applications in satellite systems using Altium Designer
- Collaborate with electrical design engineers to translate designs into manufacturable PCB assemblies meeting specifications
- Coordinate with PCB vendors to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality, high-reliability boards per IPC standards
- Generate fabrication and assembly documentation including technical drawings and design templates
- Manage and maintain the Altium parts library with footprints and schematic symbols
- Review and manage subcontractor PCB layouts and conduct design rule checks (DRC) and DFM/DFT analysis
