About this role
Reddit seeks a Front End Software Engineer to build the next generation of their media web experience, focusing on web media player development and the APIs that power video and audio streaming. You'll work cross-functionally to deliver low-latency playback experiences using React, TypeScript, Go, and Python across their platform serving 130+ million daily users.
What you'll do
- Design and implement fullstack solutions for the media player UI (React, TypeScript) and backend APIs (Go, Python)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering to execute product strategy and build user-facing features
- Contribute across the full development cycle: technical design, development, testing, experimentation, and launch
- Balance rapid iteration with quality, avoiding critical bugs while moving quickly
- Review code and design documents, provide feedback on product specs and performance optimizations
- Mentor junior engineers and establish standards to improve developer workflows
