About this role

Redwood Materials seeks an Electrical Engineer to lead early-phase development of grid-scale battery energy storage projects, converting initial requirements into buildable designs, feasibility studies, and permitting strategies. You'll coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams, support business development with technical scope and cost inputs, and deliver comprehensive handoff packages to the detailed design team.

What you'll do

  • Create concept layouts, single-line diagrams, and feasibility studies confirming buildability, interconnection viability, and permitting pathways
  • Provide technical EPC support to Business Development with scope boundaries, constraints, cost/schedule estimates, and contract exhibits
  • Coordinate civil, structural, electrical, architectural, and fire protection disciplines to establish design basis and assemble concept packages
  • Identify and document permitting and interconnection strategies, timelines, and critical site requirements including zoning and environmental constraints
  • Manage data and information request tracking, assign owners, and surface scope gaps and long-lead items
  • Document scope delineation and deliver Basis of Design package to hand off projects to detailed design team
