About this role

Lead land use and development due diligence for grid-scale battery energy storage projects, determining site viability and creating a defensible development path from initial screening through permitting and handoff to detailed design. You'll coordinate environmental reviews, entitlements, utility service coordination, and consultant management across federal, state, and local requirements.

What you'll do

  • Own scope, schedule, and resourcing for land use and development due diligence on early-phase energy storage projects
  • Conduct site screening, constraints analysis, and feasibility assessments using title, survey, environmental, and jurisdictional data
  • Scope and manage surveys, geotechnical investigations, hydrology studies, and integration of subsurface findings into developable-area analysis
  • Lead environmental due diligence under NEPA and state review acts, including wetlands, endangered species, and cultural resources coordination
  • Drive local entitlements including zoning, permits, site plan review, and variances while maintaining permit matrices and schedules
  • Secure non-power utilities (water, sewer, fiber) and produce Basis of Design package for handoff to detailed design team
