About this role

Muon Space seeks a Verification & Qualification Engineer to own requirements management, test planning, and execution for flight-critical solar arrays and deployable mechanisms. You'll establish traceability matrices, execute environmental qualification campaigns, and embed verification rigor into a new hardware development group, requiring three days/week onsite in San Jose.

What you'll do

  • Capture, flow down, and maintain requirements and verification traceability matrices (RVTM) for solar and deployable systems
  • Develop qualification, acceptance, and protoqualification test plans aligned with NASA-STD-5017 and GEVS standards
  • Plan and execute test campaigns including vibration, thermal vacuum, thermal cycling, shock, and mechanism life testing
  • Identify verification risks and long-lead test facility/instrumentation needs; drive resolution
  • Manage test data reduction, reporting, and qualification data packages; handle nonconformances and root-cause closure
  • Contribute to FMECA and single-point-failure analysis; represent verification in design reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR, MRR)
