About this role
Reflect Orbital seeks a Composites Engineer to lead the engineering, development, and manufacturing of ultra-lightweight deployable composite structures for space applications. You'll own the complete lifecycle from laminate design through production, optimizing processes for yield and performance while supporting flight hardware that launches in 2025.
What you'll do
- Own engineering and process development for all in-house composite structures
- Develop and optimize laminate schedules, cure cycles, and layup techniques
- Design tooling, molds, fixtures, and inspection methods for precision composite parts
- Run experiments to characterize materials and processes (fiber alignment, void fraction, cure kinetics)
- Implement manufacturing controls, process specs, and QA workflows
- Diagnose composite manufacturing and structural issues; support floor fabrication as needed
