About this role

REGENT is seeking an Embedded Systems Software Engineer to develop and validate real-time software for Seaglider, a revolutionary wing-in-ground-effect coastal transport vehicle. You'll contribute to embedded firmware development, hardware-in-the-loop testing, electronics integration, and field trials, working across microcontrollers, Linux systems, and cross-functional teams to bring cutting-edge autonomous maritime technology from prototype to production.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain real-time embedded software for microcontrollers and Linux-based systems in the Seaglider platform
  • Build and support SIL/HIL test environments for controls software verification and validation
  • Integrate and manage COTS electronics including sensors, servos, single-board computers, and custom harnesses
  • Automate build systems, deployment pipelines, and create developer tools to streamline certification processes
  • Participate in sea trials, monitor live operation, diagnose issues, and troubleshoot in real-world field conditions
  • Collaborate with controls, avionics, and modeling teams to ensure seamless hardware-software integration
