About this role
Relativity Space seeks an Avionics Mechanical Engineer II to design and deliver electro-mechanical systems for the Terran R rocket, including enclosures, thermal management, and structural solutions that survive launch and space environments. This hands-on role combines CAD design, analysis, and testing in a fast-paced aerospace environment where you'll own systems from concept through flight qualification.
What you'll do
- Design, analyze, and develop electro-mechanical avionics systems including enclosures and electrical interfaces
- Solve thermal and structural challenges in mass-efficient, tight packaging configurations
- Perform structural and thermal analysis using CAD and simulation tools
- Conduct hardware testing and debugging to verify flight readiness
- Collaborate cross-functionally with avionics, propulsion, and manufacturing teams
- Drive systems from concept through qualification and delivery
