Relativity Space seeks a Launch Mechanical Engineer II to lead mechanical design projects for the Terran R rocket program in Long Beach, California. You'll design and analyze critical launch systems, coordinate across engineering teams, and drive innovation from concept through implementation in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
What you'll do
- Lead mechanical design projects from concept through implementation using engineering principles
- Coordinate technical requirements between vehicle and ground support engineering teams
- Develop 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and system schematics for mechanical, fluid, and electrical systems
- Perform structural, dynamic, and system performance analyses using hand calculations and FEM
- Present design concepts and updates to engineering and cross-functional teams
- Support launch operations and vehicle refurbishment initiatives
