About this role
Relativity Space seeks a Manufacturing Engineer II to support the assembly of Terran R rocket structures by managing shop floor operations, driving process improvements, and collaborating across engineering teams. You'll clear production barriers, standardize manufacturing practices, and provide design-for-manufacturing feedback throughout prototype and flight builds.
What you'll do
- Oversee shop floor operations for primary structure assembly work centers, resolving obstacles to keep production on schedule
- Lead process improvement initiatives across multiple work centers using insights from first Terran R builds
- Develop and standardize work instructions, specifications, and best practices for high-fidelity assembly processes
- Provide Design for Manufacturing feedback to structures teams during development, prototype, and flight build phases
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, reliability engineers, production teams, and external vendors to solve technical challenges
- Make risk-based decisions to disposition assembly issues and maintain production momentum
