About this role
Relativity Space seeks a Software Engineer to build mission operations software for the Mars 2028 spacecraft, creating tools for command generation, telemetry monitoring, and autonomous science collection. You'll own the full stack of operator interfaces and data systems that enable mission control and external partner collaboration across an interplanetary mission.
What you'll do
- Design and build command generation, validation, and execution software for spacecraft operations
- Develop telemetry monitoring systems and data dissemination pipelines for mission control
- Create interfaces enabling safe, reliable interaction between external science teams and spacecraft systems
- Implement automation across the mission operations stack to support autonomous science re-tasking
- Collaborate with mission operators, instrument teams, and cross-functional partners on software requirements
- Support integration of AI models and autonomous decision-making into spacecraft operations workflows
