About this role

ALSO is seeking a Senior Staff Electrical Engineer to architect the electrical systems for innovative micro-mobility platforms, overseeing power distribution, energy storage, compute, sensors, and connectivity across vehicle lines. You'll establish design standards, lead cross-functional teams, and drive technology integration from concept through production while balancing performance, cost, and regulatory requirements.

What you'll do

  • Drive electrical architecture for micro-mobility platforms covering power distribution, energy storage, compute, sensors, lighting, safety, and connectivity
  • Establish vehicle block diagrams, interfaces, and design standards enabling modularity and reuse across vehicle lines
  • Provide technical direction to systems, electrical, firmware, and cable harness engineering teams
  • Evaluate trade-offs between performance, cost, reliability, and regulatory compliance in system design decisions
  • Lead design reviews and ensure architecture compliance throughout the product lifecycle from concept to production
  • Partner with mechanical, firmware, manufacturing, and supplier teams to integrate electrical systems and evaluate new components

  • Battery management systems, charging systems, and energy storage technologies
  • Vehicle communication networks (CAN, CAN-FD, Ethernet, LIN, BLE)
  • Functional safety standards (UL 2271, ISO 4210, ISO 26262) and EMC/EMI compliance
  • System modeling, simulation, and requirements management tools
  • Cross-functional leadership and technical mentoring
  • Design for manufacturability, reliability, and serviceability
