About this role
Join Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies as a Vehicle Controls Software Engineering Intern working on embedded software and controls algorithms for electric vehicles. You'll contribute to critical systems like propulsion, battery management, thermal controls, and safety across multiple vehicle domains during an eight-month internship in Irvine.
What you'll do
- Design, implement, and test embedded software or controls algorithms for assigned vehicle systems
- Write production-quality C/C++ code with Python for test automation tooling
- Validate features through collaboration with systems and test engineers before deployment
- Execute and debug tests in SIL, HIL, or bench environments
- Communicate technical progress and design tradeoffs to team members
