Join Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies to lead Wi-Fi connectivity for next-generation vehicles. You'll own the wireless projection stack—from Android framework integration to vendor driver collaboration—ensuring seamless CarPlay and Android Auto performance across global regulatory domains in RF-constrained automotive environments.

What you'll do

  • Bring up and enable Wi-Fi on next-generation platforms through the Android Wi-Fi stack, validating behavior on bench and in vehicles
  • Own connection-management logic for wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, including SoftAP hosting and timing/retry behavior per Apple and Google specs
  • Manage the network layer: IPv6 configuration, routing, firewall rules, country code transitions, and regulatory compliance globally
  • Design for RF constraints: channel selection, concurrent APs, and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth antenna coexistence
  • Isolate and resolve driver and firmware issues with Wi-Fi vendors through log analysis, testing, and fix validation
  • Lead Wi-Fi Alliance certification readiness and support CarPlay/Android Auto certification as the wireless SME

  • Android Wi-Fi stack (framework, wpa_supplicant, hostapd, HAL)
  • C/C++ and Java/Kotlin for Android framework
  • Linux networking (IPv6, routing, iptables, DHCP/DNS)
  • 802.11 protocol knowledge (n/ac/ax, WPA2/WPA3, AP/station modes)
  • Wireless debugging (OTA sniffers, driver/framework logs, stack isolation)
  • Vendor collaboration on Wi-Fi silicon/module issues
  • Technical writing and cross-team leadership
