About this role
Roblox seeks a Software Engineer for Engine Infrastructure to develop high-performance C++ systems powering the game engine at scale. You'll work on critical subsystems handling data synchronization, resource streaming, and server fleet optimization while collaborating with experienced engineers on a platform serving 2M+ developers worldwide.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain C++ engine code for mission-critical Roblox game engine subsystems
- Design and implement data syncing mechanisms between server and client components
- Build game-aware data streaming systems that optimize resource usage across devices
- Scale game server fleet infrastructure to support millions of concurrent servers globally
- Collaborate across teams to integrate solutions and balance technical tradeoffs
- Work on threading, memory management, physics, and scripting subsystems
