About this role

Rocket Lab seeks an experienced CMM Programmer III to perform precision inspections on complex mechanical components and assemblies for aerospace applications using PC-DMIS software and hand measurement tools. You'll ensure quality standards are met across purchased parts, 3D-printed components, and propulsion systems while collaborating with engineering to continuously improve inspection processes.

What you'll do

  • Program and operate CMM equipment using PC-DMIS software to inspect purchased parts, machined components, and propulsion assemblies
  • Conduct receiving, in-process, and final assembly inspections using hand tools, microscopes, and precision measurement instruments
  • Document non-conformances in ERP, MES, and issue tracking systems according to company procedures
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize work instructions and identify critical inspection points
  • Coordinate with production personnel to prioritize workload and meet delivery milestones
  • Detect and prevent defects from reaching downstream customers through rigorous Built-in Quality practices
