About this role
Rocket Lab seeks a Flight Software Intern for summer 2027 to support the MAX Flight Software team in designing, testing, and validating flight software with mentorship from experienced engineers. You'll work on-site in Littleton, Colorado for a minimum of 12 weeks, contributing to real spacecraft and rocket projects while developing both technical and professional skills.
What you'll do
- Support flight software design and testing for MAX spacecraft and rockets
- Test software against emulated hardware to enhance validation capabilities
- Collaborate with mentors and team members to solve engineering challenges
- Lead development projects with minimal supervision
- Attend regular 1:1 meetings to track progress and facilitate learning
- Participate in tech talks and cross-team collaboration

- Flight software development and testing
- Hardware emulation and integration testing
