About this role

Rocket Lab seeks a Harness Design Engineer II to design electrical harnesses and support avionics work for spacecraft and space systems. You'll handle harness layout, connector selection, pinout generation, and assist with circuit design, testing, and optimization for satellite and spacecraft programs.

What you'll do

  • Design and layout electrical harnesses for spacecraft, including connector and wire selection with shielding specifications
  • Generate pinout tables and interconnect documentation based on spacecraft diagrams
  • Create and maintain bills of materials in the PLM system for harness assemblies
  • Develop test plans and procedures for avionics subsystems and components
  • Perform circuit analysis and optimization for performance, reliability, and manufacturability
  • Participate in design reviews and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on electronic assemblies
