About this role
Rocket Lab seeks a Manufacturing Engineer I to develop and optimize production processes for the Neutron reusable launch vehicle at the Middle River, MD facility. You'll oversee hardware build and integration, design ground support tooling, create manufacturing procedures, and drive continuous improvement across structural and subsystem assembly.
What you'll do
- Plan and execute build and integration of Neutron flight hardware and associated components
- Design and develop ground support tooling, procedures, and processes for component and assembly handling
- Create build methods to improve throughput, reduce errors, and streamline manufacturing workflows
- Develop and refine inspection, repair, assembly, and system test procedures in collaboration with integration engineers
- Document lessons learned and non-conformances as actionable improvements for design and manufacturing teams
- Maintain integrated planning documents, work instructions, and facility processing capabilities
