About this role

Rocket Lab seeks a Systems Engineer I to support spacecraft and subsystems development for civil, commercial, and defense space missions. You'll own technical budgets, requirements, testing, and hands-on hardware development for cutting-edge space programs based in Long Beach, CA.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain technical budgets, system requirements, and verification techniques for vehicle performance
  • Create simulations, analysis, and test methods across spacecraft functions with data analysis support
  • Lead technical development and drive spacecraft mission programs from concept through execution
  • Develop interface specifications, CONOPS documents, and design documentation collaboratively
  • Support program and product management activities across space systems projects
  • Execute testing of electrical subsystems, thermal vacuum, vibration, and hardware-in-the-loop validation
