About this role
Samsara seeks a Software Engineer II to join the Safety Triage & Insights team, building data-driven safety platforms that leverage IoT data, real-time processing, and AI/LLM capabilities. You'll design scalable systems and customer-facing products that help fleets improve safety outcomes, working across backend services, APIs, and modern web applications in a remote US role.
What you'll do
- Design and evolve systems at the intersection of real-time data processing, AI insights, and product experiences
- Independently deliver customer-facing features from design through production rollout and monitoring
- Build reliable services, APIs, and web applications that improve existing systems and ship new capabilities
- Contribute to AI-powered workflows using modern LLM tooling with evaluation and human-in-the-loop patterns
- Collaborate with Product, Design, ML, and platform teams to deliver cohesive customer experiences
- Make thoughtful technical tradeoffs balancing speed, maintainability, scalability, and customer impact
