About this role
Saronic Technologies seeks a Mechanical Engineer Intern for summer 2027 to support the design, development, and testing of autonomous surface vessels. You'll work hands-on with hull analysis, propulsion systems, sensor integration, and autonomy algorithms while contributing to maritime defense innovation.
What you'll do
- Support hardware and software design for autonomous surface vessels
- Analyze ASV hull forms for stability, hydrodynamics, and structural integrity
- Participate in testing and validation of ASV prototypes and autonomy algorithms
- Assist with computational fluid dynamics simulations and vessel performance evaluation
- Integrate propulsion systems, control surfaces, and onboard equipment
- Document progress, prepare engineering reports, and present findings to cross-functional teams
