About this role

Saronic Technologies is a leader in revolutionizing autonomy at sea, dedicated to developing state-of-the-art solutions that enhance maritime operations through autonomous and intelligent platforms.

Job Overview

We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our FP&A team and help build the financial infrastructure needed to support Saronic as we scale.

This is not a traditional FP&A role. It is a strong fit for someone who sees a manual process, unclear ownership, or a recurring financial problem and immediately starts thinking about how it could work better. You will work across FP&A, Accounting, Finance tooling, and the broader business to improve how Finance plans, closes, structures data, and operates as the company grows.

We are looking for someone who is forward-thinking, comfortable operating in ambiguity, and willing to identify problems, challenge existing processes, and bring recommendations rather than wait for direction.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Process Improvement and Scalability

  • Lead defined cross-functional initiatives to improve financial processes across Finance, Accounting, tooling, and operational teams

  • Proactively identify process gaps, unclear ownership, and emerging challenges, and recommend scalable solutions

  • Drive improvements across areas such as cost allocation, operational data flows, revenue and COGS processes, and other workflows where ownership or processes are unclear

  • Partner with the Finance tooling owner to translate Finance and business needs into automation and tooling improvements

  • Support larger Finance transformation initiatives, such as organizational changes, new business units or entities, system implementations, and changes to financial processes or reporting structures

Financial Data Integrity and Infrastructure

  • Partner with Accounting and FP&A to improve the quality and consistency of financial data used for planning, reporting, and analysis

  • Investigate recurring data issues, identify root causes, and implement improvements that reduce manual corrections and cleanup

  • Support governance of financial data tagging and help ensure changes are implemented consistently across Finance processes and tools

Planning, Forecasting, and Close

  • Drive key components of forecasting, annual planning, and long-range planning cycles, including timelines, communications, templates, and review coordination

  • Own the FP&A month-end close cadence, coordinating deliverables, reporting, and dependencies across FP&A and with Accounting

  • Improve consistency and efficiency across recurring planning, close, and reporting processes

  • Identify opportunities to simplify how Finance operates as the business and organizational structure evolve

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A, financial operations, business finance, finance transformation, finance consulting, or a related field

  • Strong understanding of core financial concepts and FP&A processes

  • Demonstrated ability to take an ambiguous or inefficient process, understand it end to end, and drive it toward a practical solution

  • Ability to anticipate problems, identify opportunities for improvement, and bring recommendations rather than wait for direction

  • Curiosity and willingness to challenge existing processes, ask why they exist, and recommend a better approach when appropriate

  • Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills

  • Comfort working across Accounting, FP&A, tooling, and operational teams

  • Experience building or scaling Finance processes and infrastructure in a high-growth, rapidly changing, or transformation-oriented environment (strongly preferred)

  • Experience with ERP, planning, financial reporting, or other Finance tools (a plus)

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

  • Occasional standing and walking within the office

  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment

  • Visual acuity to read screens, documents, and reports

  • Occasional reaching, bending, or stooping to access file drawers, cabinets, or office supplies

  • Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 20 pounds (e.g., office supplies, packages)

Benefits

  • Medical Insurance: Comprehensive health insurance plans covering a range of services. Saronic pays 100% of the premium for employees and 80% for dependents.

  • Dental and Vision Insurance: Coverage for routine dental check-ups, orthodontics, and vision care. Saronic pays 100% of the premium under the basic plan for employees and 80% for dependents.

  • Time Off: Generous PTO and holidays

  • Parental Leave: Paid maternity and paternity leave to support new parents

  • Competitive Salary: Industry-standard salaries with opportunities for performance-based bonuses

  • Retirement Plan: 401(k) plan with company match

  • Stock Options: Equity options to give employees a stake in the company’s success

  • Life and Disability Insurance: Basic life insurance and short- and long-term disability coverage

  • Pet Insurance: Discounted pet insurance options, including a 24/7 telehealth helpline

  • Additional Perks: Free lunch and unlimited free drinks and snacks in the office
