About this role

Saronic Technologies seeks a Software Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 to contribute to autonomous surface vessel development. You'll design and test software components for navigation, sensor integration, and real-time decision-making while collaborating with experienced engineers in Austin.

What you'll do

  • Design, implement, and test software for autonomous systems including navigation algorithms and sensor integration
  • Develop and optimize real-time algorithms for path planning, decision-making, and object detection
  • Build testing frameworks and conduct hardware-in-the-loop validation in simulated and real environments
  • Create technical documentation including design specs, user manuals, and test plans
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers on hardware-software integration
