Software Engineer, Public Sector - New Grad
About this role
Scale seeks a new graduate software engineer to build core products for U.S. government AI systems, focusing on data ingestion, agent orchestration, and mission-critical infrastructure. You'll ship full-stack features, work directly with government stakeholders, and own meaningful projects from day one.
What you'll do
- Build and deploy full-stack features for federal AI systems, including data pipelines and agent orchestration
- Develop safety guardrails and evaluation infrastructure to ensure agent reliability in high-stakes environments
- Optimize data retrieval systems including RAG pipelines over large, heterogeneous government datasets
- Create user-facing interfaces for auditing agent decisions and querying mission data
- Deploy applications into secure, air-gapped, and cloud-native government environments
- Collaborate directly with government stakeholders to gather requirements and iterate on solutions
