About this role
Scout Motors seeks a Main System Engineer to serve as the technical and operational integration lead for the Body Systems – Metals portfolio, coordinating cross-functional alignment, program delivery, and issue resolution across multiple engineering teams. This role acts as an extension of the Main System Lead, ensuring deliverables are mature, decision-ready, and aligned with vehicle program objectives across body-in-white, closures, doors, and structural components.
What you'll do
- Coordinate technical integration and alignment activities across Metals SETs (Body-in-White, Underbody, Closures, Doors, Hood, Liftgate, and Structural Components)
- Serve as central integration point between SET Leaders and cross-functional stakeholders (Product, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Finance, Logistics)
- Prepare governance topics, assess deliverable readiness, and ensure supporting technical and cost information is available for leadership decision-making
- Monitor engineering milestones, sourcing status, development progress, and maintain visibility of risks, issues, and mitigation plans
- Develop integrated status reporting, management summaries, and communication of priorities, decisions, and recovery plans
- Partner with SET Leaders to improve topic maturity, challenge assumptions, and facilitate resolution of cross-SET issues
