Teleoperation Engineer
About this role
Bridge operations and engineering by training teleoperation operators, maintaining hands-on robotic system proficiency, and translating operational feedback into engineering improvements. This role combines direct teleoperation work with team management, quality assurance, and cross-functional coordination in a growing robotics environment.
What you'll do
- Spend significant hands-on time operating robotic systems via VR, joystick, and control interfaces while setting execution standards
- Onboard, train, and evaluate teleoperation operators while establishing consistent quality and data standards
- Develop and maintain SOPs, training materials, QA processes, and operational documentation systems
- Act as primary liaison between operations and engineering teams, surfacing operator feedback and flagging systematic issues
- Monitor data quality metrics, maintain training logs, and investigate cross-team feedback patterns
- Identify operator errors and edge cases, escalating with structured context to support system improvements
