About this role

Shield AI seeks a hands-on HIL and Infrastructure Lab Technician to own daily operations of defense-tech laboratory facilities, managing equipment readiness, asset control, and infrastructure maintenance. You'll support hardware integration, testing, and software development across simulation and flight systems while maintaining lab standards, documentation, and cross-program coordination.

What you'll do

  • Own daily HIL and infrastructure lab operations, ensuring systems, tools, documentation, and shared resources are available and ready for engineering teams
  • Build, install, configure, and maintain HIL racks, test benches, compute systems, network equipment, simulation hardware, and flight hardware
  • Manage lab asset control including receiving, tagging, serial-number tracking, calibration, maintenance records, and equipment disposition
  • Schedule lab access, manage equipment reservations, coordinate maintenance windows, and balance competing priorities across multiple programs
  • Perform wiring, cable assembly, soldering, crimping, rack assembly, and mechanical rework following approved procedures and technical drawings
  • Troubleshoot lab issues across power, networking, compute, software, and mechanical systems; support software development environments and automated workflows
