About this role
Shield AI seeks a Mission Systems Software Engineer to design and develop real-time mission computing software for autonomous aircraft with integrated sensors and weapons systems. You'll collaborate across hardware, software, and systems teams to architect solutions from preliminary design through flight testing and deployment.
What you'll do
- Architect real-time software systems for autonomous aircraft mission computing environments
- Develop solutions supporting sensor and weapons integration in multi-level operating contexts
- Collaborate with hardware and systems teams to establish consensus on design approaches
- Progress systems through design phases: PDR, CoDR, CDR, lab testing, and flight validation
- Design new software architectures for real-time, safety-critical applications
- Support fielding and operational deployment of autonomous systems
