RF Engineer II (R6053)
About this role
Shield AI seeks an RF Engineer II to design and develop RF/microwave modules for defense and autonomous systems, from initial architecture through production release. You'll create active and passive RF circuits, perform electromagnetic analysis, and collaborate cross-functionally to integrate hardware into demanding aerospace and defense platforms.
What you'll do
- Design RF and microwave modules including low-noise amplifiers, power amplifiers, filters, switches, and frequency-conversion stages from requirements through production
- Perform circuit and electromagnetic analysis using ADS, AWR, HFSS, or CST and correlate simulations with measured hardware
- Create and review RF/mixed-signal PCB layouts with controlled impedance, grounding, shielding, and signal integrity
- Execute laboratory characterization and troubleshoot complex hardware issues such as oscillation, intermodulation, and thermal drift
- Develop verification methods, production test strategies, and technical documentation to ensure repeatability and manufacturability
- Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, avionics, antenna, and manufacturing teams to integrate RF hardware within constraints
