About this role
Sierra seeks a Software Engineer for the Horizon team to build self-improving AI agents that handle complex business workflows over extended periods. You'll create foundational infrastructure for agent learning, multi-channel orchestration, and platform abstractions while working directly with enterprise customers in a fast-moving startup environment.
What you'll do
- Design feedback loops, evaluation systems, and memory infrastructure enabling agents to learn and improve from outcomes
- Build and ship long-horizon agents pursuing complex business goals across voice, SMS, email, and other channels
- Extract reusable patterns from customer implementations and develop platform abstractions to accelerate future agent launches
- Solve technical challenges across orchestration, integrations, data pipelines, memory management, and observability
- Identify product gaps through hands-on implementation and collaborate on Horizon's architecture and roadmap
- Work directly with customers to understand business processes and translate validated solutions into durable product capabilities
