Thornton, CO$80k–$125kmidAdded today

About this role

Solid Power seeks an Electrochemical Engineer II/III to develop and execute testing protocols for next-generation all-solid-state battery electrolytes. You'll characterize electrochemical performance, translate experimental results into product and process improvements, and support manufacturing scale-up through data-driven insights.

What you'll do

  • Design and execute electrochemical experiments (EIS, CV, CCD, DC polarization, cycling studies) to evaluate solid-state electrolyte performance and stability
  • Correlate processing conditions, material properties, and microstructure to electrochemical performance for process-structure-property-performance understanding
  • Translate electrochemical feedback into actionable product and process improvements
  • Apply statistical and data analysis tools (JMP, Minitab, Python) to identify trends and support engineering decisions
  • Contribute to root-cause investigations for material performance, product variability, and customer-relevant cell outcomes
  • Communicate complex electrochemical datasets to technical and non-technical stakeholders with clear recommendations

What they're looking for

  • Electrochemical characterization techniques (EIS, cyclic voltammetry, critical current density testing)
  • Battery and electrolyte chemistry understanding
  • Data analysis and statistical tools (JMP, Minitab, Python)
  • Distribution of relaxation times (DRT) analysis
  • Laboratory testing and experimental design
  • Technical communication and stakeholder reporting
  • Root-cause analysis and problem-solving
  • Process-structure-property correlations
