About this role
Sony Interactive Entertainment seeks a Software Engineer II with strong Java expertise to design and maintain scalable backend services powering the PlayStation Network ecosystem. You'll develop microservices, APIs, and cloud-native applications supporting millions of players across multiple platforms while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based backend services using Spring Boot and modern frameworks
- Build and enhance APIs, microservices, and platform components for PlayStation Network, commerce, subscriptions, and gaming services
- Write clean, secure, and well-tested code with comprehensive unit and integration test coverage
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases, optimize queries, and manage schema design
- Debug production issues and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on design discussions, code reviews, and technical documentation
