About this role
SpaceX seeks an Antenna Engineer to design and develop advanced phased array and parabolic antenna systems for Starlink satellites and consumer hardware. You'll own antenna RF systems end-to-end, from conception through manufacturing, collaborating across electrical, software, mechanical, and manufacturing disciplines.
What you'll do
- Design advanced antenna and feed systems for next-generation phased array and reflector products
- Fabricate and characterize antenna prototypes, feed systems, and RF front ends
- Develop and test digital beamforming software to validate phased array functionality
- Set specifications and troubleshoot phased array systems for satellite and consumer products
- Perform design validation testing on prototype and production antenna designs
- Analyze field operational RF performance data to identify improvements and resolve issues
What they're looking for
- 3D EM simulation tools (CST, HFSS, FEKO, EMPro, TICRA, or XFDTD)
- RF and antenna design fundamentals
- Phased array antenna expertise
- Programming (Python, C#, C++, or MATLAB)
- RF circuit simulation tools (AWR, ADS, Genesys)
- Antenna measurement and prototyping techniques
- Microwave network analysis and RF filter design
- Cross-functional collaboration and communication
