About this role

SpaceX seeks an Automation and Controls Engineer to design and develop factory automation solutions for Starlink gateway production at the Bastrop facility. You'll lead multi-disciplinary projects spanning machine design, robotics, and motion systems while writing production-grade PLC code and ensuring safety compliance.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, and manage automation projects from ideation through commissioning and operational handoff
  • Write and debug well-structured, documented, maintainable PLC code for high-volume manufacturing
  • Implement ANSI/RIA15.06/OSHA-compliant safety systems for robots, gantries, conveyors, and equipment
  • Design intuitive HMI interfaces for machine operation and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines on factory solutions
  • Oversee factory health monitoring and system reliability
