About this role
SpaceX seeks an Aviation Certification Engineer to lead FAA certification efforts for Starlink's aircraft internet systems. You'll manage the complete certification lifecycle, produce regulatory documentation, and collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure compliance with aviation standards.
What you'll do
- Produce FAA supplemental type certification deliverables including test plans, analysis reports, and operational documents on aggressive timelines
- Own and manage multiple concurrent certification projects while tracking schedules and communicating progress to leadership
- Drive process improvements to streamline certification workflows and reduce overhead for future applications
- Serve as internal FAA certification expert and develop SpaceX tools and processes to support aviation program goals
- Partner with hardware teams early in design to identify and address regulatory compliance requirements
- Conduct or oversee aircraft ground and flight testing activities
