Avionics System Engineer, HITL (Starfall)
About this role
SpaceX seeks an Avionics System Engineer to design and build Hardware in the Loop (HITL) testing systems for the Starfall reentry vehicle. You'll develop HITL infrastructure incorporating flight avionics hardware, create monitoring software, automate deployment via Python, design harnesses, and troubleshoot electrical issues on an aggressive production schedule.
What you'll do
- Develop HITL systems for in-house avionics hardware destined for space flight
- Create software to monitor and validate HITL hardware performance including flight avionics and commercial equipment
- Build Python automation for software deployment to avionics boxes and PXI chassis
- Design HITL harnessing that mirrors flight vehicle electrical architecture
- Troubleshoot, root-cause, and repair electrical hardware issues while driving process improvements
