About this role
SpaceX seeks an Avionics Test Engineer for Starshield to design and develop comprehensive test systems for satellite electronic hardware. You'll be responsible for creating test solutions from concept through execution, ensuring all flight electronics meet safety and reliability standards before deployment.
What you'll do
- Design and develop custom test solutions for satellite electronics, optics, RF antennas, and electro-mechanical components
- Select or design PCBAs and test equipment to measure signals, apply flight-like loads, and power units under test
- Write Python automation software to control test equipment, interact with units under test, and manage production documentation
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to improve product reliability, yield, and testing infrastructure
- Investigate and root-cause test failures and anomalies to implement corrective actions
- Serve as final quality gate for all electronic hardware destined for flight
