About this role

SpaceX seeks an Avionics Test Engineer to design and develop comprehensive test systems for advanced spacecraft flight hardware on the Starship program. You will create custom testing infrastructure combining hardware, software, and test sequences to validate critical avionics components in extreme environments before flight.

What you'll do

  • Design and develop custom test solutions for flight hardware including electronics, optics, RF antennas, and electro-mechanical components
  • Select COTS hardware or design custom PCBAs to measure signals, apply loads, and power units under test
  • Write Python automation software to control units under test, test equipment, instrumentation, and production systems
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to drive innovation and improve product reliability and yield
  • Root-cause test anomalies and failures to identify and implement mitigations
