About this role
SpaceX seeks a Build Reliability Engineer to ensure the reliability and quality of Falcon and Dragon flight hardware from design through production and operation. You'll work cross-functionally with design and manufacturing teams to develop quality plans, implement lean processes, investigate failures, and drive continuous improvements on the factory floor and in testing environments.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to create quality plans for flight hardware, including inspection planning and lessons learned integration
- Develop and validate lean test and inspection processes for new and existing products while meeting quality objectives
- Monitor product and process success during production ramp-up using quality and analysis tools
- Conduct build quality reviews to identify risk reduction opportunities and address non-conformances with integrated product teams
- Investigate production, test, and flight failures to identify root causes and mitigate risks
- Support shop floor continuous improvement through rework guides, inspection optimization, and critical process control
