SpaceX seeks an experienced CMM Programmer for 2nd shift in Redmond to perform precision inspections on Starlink components using coordinate measuring machines and advanced gauging equipment. The role involves CMM programming, GD&T interpretation, quality assurance, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure manufactured parts meet specifications and improve machining operations.

What you'll do

  • Program and operate CMM equipment for precision inspection of mechanical parts, assemblies, and materials using various probes (touch, vision, laser)
  • Interpret GD&T requirements and engineering drawings to verify part conformance to specifications and identify interpretation issues
  • Create, maintain, and organize CMM programs with proper version control in coordination with Quality Assurance
  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on components for workmanship and dimensional accuracy
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve inspection processes, identify design issues, and develop gauging solutions
  • Train operators and assist with CMM setup, including bridge-style machines with up to 5-axis head motion capabilities
