About this role
SpaceX seeks an experienced Database Reliability Engineer to manage Oracle and PostgreSQL infrastructure across the organization. You'll own database health, performance, and uptime while developing automation solutions and mentoring team members in a fast-paced environment.
What you'll do
- Ensure health, uptime, and performance of Oracle and PostgreSQL databases across SpaceX
- Develop automation scripts using Python or bash to eliminate routine manual tasks
- Design, deploy, and maintain comprehensive monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery solutions
- Optimize database queries and troubleshoot performance issues with developer teams
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide 24/7 support as needed
- Document configurations, runbooks, and mentor other database engineers
