About this role

9 Mothers seeks an Integration Engineer to design and maintain connections between our AI-powered counter-drone platform and external Command & Control systems, military protocols, and enterprise ecosystems. You'll own the full integration lifecycle from requirements gathering through field deployment, working across APIs, messaging standards, and third-party platforms in a fast-paced defense environment.

What you'll do

  • Design and build integrations between counter-drone system and C2 platforms, sensor networks, and mission-critical external systems
  • Develop and maintain APIs, REST/SOAP interfaces, and pub/sub messaging systems that expose detection and tracking data with low latency
  • Implement military and industry-standard protocols (Cursor-on-Target, Link 16, TAK/ATAK, VMF) and ensure interoperability compliance
  • Gather integration requirements from customers and partners; define interface control documents and translate operational needs into specifications
  • Build and execute integration test plans including simulation and hardware-in-the-loop testing before field deployment
  • Support customer demonstrations, pilots, and field deployments with troubleshooting across the full technical stack

What they're looking for

  • Systems integration and enterprise integration patterns
  • REST, SOAP, and pub/sub messaging APIs
  • Data serialization (JSON, XML, Protobuf)
  • Python, Kotlin, C++, or C# programming
  • Military/industry standards (Cursor-on-Target, Link 16, TAK/ATAK)
  • Network troubleshooting and diagnostic tools
  • Integration testing and validation methodologies
  • Interface control document (ICD) development
