About this role
SpaceX seeks an experienced Database Reliability Engineer to own the health, performance, and uptime of Oracle and PostgreSQL databases across the organization. You'll automate routine tasks, design disaster recovery strategies, optimize database systems, and mentor other engineers while supporting development teams in a fast-paced environment.
What you'll do
- Ensure health, uptime, and performance of Oracle and PostgreSQL databases
- Develop automation scripts using Python, bash, or similar languages for routine tasks
- Engineer, deploy, and maintain comprehensive database monitoring and backup/restore solutions
- Design, implement, and test disaster recovery strategies
- Identify and optimize slow queries; provide database design guidance to development teams
- Participate in on-call rotation and mentor database administration staff
