About this role
SpaceX seeks a Design Reliability Engineer for the Crew Starship program to ensure flight hardware and operational concepts meet rigorous mission and design requirements. You'll evaluate spacecraft designs from concept through flight, coordinate cross-functional teams, and lead certification efforts with government customers.
What you'll do
- Develop design criteria, requirements, and verification approaches for new spacecraft systems
- Conduct critical peer reviews of hardware designs during design reviews and test campaigns
- Drive vehicle design improvements through close collaboration with hardware engineering teams
- Perform verification reviews of hardware and integrated systems
- Lead spacecraft certification efforts and interact directly with U.S. Government customers
- Review vehicle changes to ensure qualification compliance and manage requirements negotiation
