About this role
SpaceX seeks a Design Reliability Engineer to ensure flight hardware and operational concepts for the Crew Starship Human Landing System meet all design requirements from concept through mission completion. You'll perform critical peer reviews, drive design improvements, and lead spacecraft certification efforts while collaborating across engineering disciplines.
What you'll do
- Develop design criteria, requirements, and verification approaches for new systems
- Conduct critical peer review and approval of hardware designs during design reviews and test campaigns
- Drive vehicle design improvements through close integration with hardware teams
- Perform verification reviews of hardware and systems
- Lead spacecraft certification efforts and interact directly with U.S. Government customers
- Review vehicle changes to ensure qualification compliance
