About this role
SpaceX seeks a Design Reliability Engineer to ensure flight-worthy designs and operations of Falcon and Dragon vehicles by conducting peer reviews, developing design criteria, and driving improvements across hardware teams. The role bridges engineering disciplines to maintain mission success and establish reliable, aircraft-like operations for reusable launch systems.
What you'll do
- Enforce SpaceX design processes and criteria compliance for flight, launch, and recovery systems
- Conduct critical peer reviews and approve hardware designs during design reviews and test campaigns
- Develop design criteria, requirements, and verification strategies for new systems
- Establish processes enabling reliable, aircraft-like operations of launch vehicles and spacecraft
- Collaborate with hardware teams to identify and implement design improvements
- Develop specialized analysis tools and scripts for engineering teams
