About this role
SpaceX seeks a Development Test Engineer for Starlink to design, build, and operate test equipment for next-generation satellite hardware. You'll create test stands, analyze mechanical systems, and conduct critical development tests in a fast-paced R&D environment.
What you'll do
- Design test stand concepts, fabrication drawings, wiring schematics, and instrumentation specifications
- Design and analyze structures, fluid systems, and mechanisms for test applications
- Supervise test stand integration including fabrication, mechanical assembly, and data/control systems
- Operate test stands with meticulous attention to detail in high-stakes testing scenarios
- Collaborate with flight engineering teams to develop test requirements and drive test campaigns to completion
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and system issues during testing
